The Marine Megafauna Foundation’s (MMF) mission is to 'Save Our Ocean Giants From Extinction'. Founded in 2012, the organisation got its start in Africa where our researchers have been working for almost 20 years to influence long-lasting conservation strategies along the coast of rural Mozambique. We are now a global organisation working in countries around the world in three core area: eastern Africa, southeast Asia and the Americas. The overall objective of MMF is simple: to conduct pioneering research which can be directly applied towards the comprehensive management of threatened marine species. Using multi-disciplinary scientific approaches and cutting-edge technologies combined with creative fieldwork techniques, our teams gather in-depth information on at-risk marine species in some of their most important critical habitats on earth. In doing this we also aim to promote the sustainable benefit of marine conservsation to local communities and preserve the natural herritage of the planet for future generations.
