Wild Shots Outreach engages young people from disadvantaged communities in wildlife and conservation through photography. We prioritise children attending government schools and the young unemployed on the borders of the Kruger Park. 

The course is practical in nature and the students learn to use DSLR cameras, culminating with a day in a game reserve, putting their newfound skills to use. Despite living within a few kilometres of Kruger, most of these young learners have never visited a wilderness area before, or seen African wildlife at first-hand. Wild Shots Outreach teaches new transferrable skills, providing a “focus” and introduction to the natural world. We raise the self esteem, the aspirations and the employability of these learners – the conservationists of tomorrow.
