Nature Needs Half is a global movement to protect and inter-connect half of all of the world’s ecosystems – land and water, to support all life on earth. Our only chance to reverse the extinction crisis and stave off catastrophic climate change must include protecting enough of the planet’s critical systems – forests, grasslands, wetlands, and ocean. The best science and traditional wisdom show us that current conservation goals are far too low. We now know that Nature Needs Half.
