Standing for the Future is a short documentary focused on the work of Marilson Silva, an Açaí producer in the Amazon. The film focuses on Marilson’s sustainable approach to harvesting and processing Açaí and his goal of protecting the forest and people of the region he calls home.
The film will also nod to the role the Green Economy Coalition (GEC) and FAS are playing in creating sustainable industries, such as the Açaí industry, and conclude by looking at how larger institutions can not only help these smaller sustainable industries scale, but also make systemic changes to move towards greener global economies.
